New Publication: SERDS on textiles

The analysis of textiles with Raman spectroscopy is tricky because often another type of spectral response, called fluorescence, is superimposing the Raman signal. To overcome this issue and to pry out the Raman signal, we need to be creative. One very creative method to separate the Raman signal from fluorescence is called Shifted Excitation Difference Raman Spectroscopy, or in short SERDS. We were able to test this method successfully on textiles in a collaboration with the Ferdinand-Braun Institute in Berlin. The exciting results of this study are published in Applied Spectroscopy Practica (doi 10.1177/27551857231210893 - open access).
